Hello Readers, this is a post to share a novelette by prolific Assamese writer এখুদ ককাইদেউ Nabakanta Barua. The book Patachara is based on 'Therigatha'(Songs of Buddhist Nuns) and it describes the story of a lady 'Sona' who later turned to 'Patachara' under some tragic circumstances. The book was first published in the year 1990 and was adapted from the story 'এহি ভিক্‌খুণী' by the author, published in the year 1987.

Readers, after a long interval, here I'm back in Blog অসম with a new post. In this blog post, I've shared a small collection of Jataka Tales in Assamese. Found the book after a long time in my archive, probably collected it during my childhood. However, due to the unavailability of cover and index pages, I'm unable to find the author and publication house. Sorry for that!

Jatak(জাতক) tells about the previous births of Buddha and is an integral part of Buddhism and Indian culture as a whole.
